Working environment is important!  At the Forest Acres Office, you’ll work with a team of professionals who believe that every client deserves excellence.    

We are a team.  We are friends who work independently, with a free exchange of ideas that make us all better Realtors.  We compete without rancor and often assist each other with difficult situations.  In the marketplace we compete for business without losing sight of the fact that our competitors are also our partners in closing the transaction.  We believe that training equals success, for both the Realtor and his/her client; nearly half of us have a professional designation or are working towards one.

We enjoy excellent training.   In addition to Russell and Jeffcoat’s excellent training and coaching, the Forest Acres office offers weekly training conducted by a top-selling agent who is also a trained instructor.  Originally designed for new agents, the weekly training has evolved into a class well attended by inexperienced as well as experienced agents. 

Knowledge is Power.  Our Broker in Charge is knowledgeable and experienced in real estate sales in Columbia, SC.  She is a life member of the Circle of Excellence and has earned numerous sales & listing awards.  With more than 20 years experience, she is able to provide guidance on a moment’s notice, and to answer questions on a range of topics,  including legal issues, salesmanship, negotiating strategies, time management and financing issues.  Her background in marketing and advertising prepared her to advise agents in choosing advertising media, designing ads, and creating promotional materials as well as creating a marketing plan for the agent and his/her listed properties.

Our Broker in Charge is available.  Margaret-Ann Ashburn is available 7 days a week to coach and mentor the agents in our office, either by phone or in person.  She maintains an open-door policy so that we can ask for guidance without an appointment.  Agents who are new to our business have a weekly standing appointment with Margaret-Ann to discuss their business, alter their business plan, create their marNovember 13, 2005whenever they have a question.

We are located in the heart of Forest Acres.  Our location and proximity to I-77 makes us convenient to all parts of Columbia and the Midlands.  We can be anywhere, from Lexington to Lugoff, in 20 minutes or less. 

Our office is upbeat and energized.  We believe that your workplace should be a safe haven to which you can retreat in times of stress.  To that end, we have built an office of optimistic, happy people who work hard.  We look forward to our weekly sales meetings during which we are entertained as well as educated, and we have developed a “can do” attitude that is fostered by our Broker in Charge and our Administrative Assistants.

Margaret-Ann Ashburn’s Philosophy: My philosophy in life is “Whatever role you take in life, do I the best you possible can.”  My goal is to be the very best Managing Broker there is and to help the agents in the office be the very best they can be.
